Keyuntae Leonard has been the top AR (Accelerated Reader) reader in third grade for the past two 9-week periods. He loves to read books and take AR tests. Way to go Keyuntae! Will Keyuntae be the top reader for the third 9-weeks? We will have to wait and see.

McWane Center Field Trip

October 17th, 2007

What a great time Ms. Clayton's 3rd grade class recently had on their field trip to the McWane Science Center in Birmingham, Alabama. Students were able to participate in fun activities such as lying on a bed of nails, playing a laser harp, and riding a bicycyle across a high-wire two stories above the ground. Students were also able to view creatures of the deep in fresh and saltwater aquariums.

Students viewed a movie titled Sea Monsters in the IMAX Dome Theater. They learned about giant turtles, fierce sharks, and creatures such as the long-necked plesiosaur.

What an exciting day everyone had. Thanks to all of the parents who helped to chaperone the field trip!
