McWane Center Field Trip

What a great time Ms. Clayton's 3rd grade class recently had on their field trip to the McWane Science Center in Birmingham, Alabama. Students were able to participate in fun activities such as lying on a bed of nails, playing a laser harp, and riding a bicycyle across a high-wire two stories above the ground. Students were also able to view creatures of the deep in fresh and saltwater aquariums.

Students viewed a movie titled Sea Monsters in the IMAX Dome Theater. They learned about giant turtles, fierce sharks, and creatures such as the long-necked plesiosaur.

What an exciting day everyone had. Thanks to all of the parents who helped to chaperone the field trip!

I really enjoyed looking at your pictures of the McWayne Center. It made me miss teaching third grade. That was the best field trip I ever went on. I hope you all had a great time. Thanks for sharing with us.
